Long time...

Well hello again. I know I haven't posted in a very long time and for that I'm sorry. Anyway..school's been alright..I guess. I'm sick of all the work, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with the 879 page novel we have to read in History. Hopefully it won't be torture. Chemistry is alright so far, but I've heard that it stinks. Anyway...I went to the football game on Friday...lots of fun. Lots of Orange & Black and school spirit. Norissa and I are definitely dressin up for the Homecoming game. We're gonna go all out:D. oh yeah. It should be fun. Then today..I spent most of the day cleaning my room, it was a disaster. Quite the job. Then Gage, ryan, me, carl and eric saylor all went to Sizzler. It was fun. Carl called and was like "yeah we're goin to dinner, we're on our way to your house." lol I was like "haha ok". then Gage ryan and me went to Kortney's. Mormon party at her house:D lol. We played guesstures and sardines and then watched The Pacifier (w/Vin Diesel, good movie:D Vin Diesel is such a babe. lol" But Kort's dad had it set up like a drive in. cuz it was projectedon the side of her house..so we were all layin on the grass. it was so cold, so we all had blankets. It was really fun though. Well I'm gonna go to bed cuz I'm pretty tired. Goodnight all:D Sweet Dreams peace-Laura

Just a few random sidenotes...

Hey everybody...I'm at Sarah's right now, chillin with sarah, laura l and david. It's like 3:26 am. We're playin with this wax massage thingy sarah has lol. It's kinda fun. This post probably won't make any sense whatsoever. Anyway...we hung out at Kevin's for a little while tonight. We made s'mores then watched Shrek 2. Laura L has lost her mind lol..she's making no sense at all. I can't believe you-know-what is starting next week. It's depressing. I love the summer, staying up late and sleeping in. Movie nights, bonfires and swimming in the river. I'll miss it. Hopefully this year will be ok. I have some good teachers and hopefully I'll live through Chem 2 and Pre Cal. alrighty well I'm pretty tired. I'm going to go..to bed possibly. Good morning! xo-Laura:)

ps: Sarah wanted everybody to know that she has wax in her throat cavity.
pps: Laura L wants everybody to know she has wax on her finger.
ppps: David wants everybody to know "for the hive!"

Я люблю Вас, Кристина

My sister, Christine, left today. She flys from Portland to Charleston, South Carolina. Then she'll go to Washington, D.C. and then fly to Moscow, Russia. She's studying abroad there for this upcoming school year. I won't see her for 10 months. I'll miss her so much. I know she will have a wonderful time. When she comes back, she'll be able to speak Russian fluently, and will have learned so much.

I've seen several great movies recently. On Sunday, I watched "Bride and Prejudice" with my mom and sister. It's very good. It's basically the same story as Pride and Prejudice, but set in Amritsar, India. It's a musical and the music is great. Then, on Wednesday, I saw Phantom of the Opera, for the first time. Amazing. I grew up listening to the songs from the musical, but the movie is terrific. The actress who plays Christine, Emmy Rossum, does wonderful job. She has a beautiful voice. And Yesterday, I watched Rocky (the original), I've seen it before, but it's very good as well.

I've always been a fan of music from other countries, in other languages, but lately I've been getting into Indian music. It's really pretty and good dance music. I love latin music as well. I've always wanted to learn how to latin dance. It looks like so much fun. Well I'm going to go. peace-Laura

The not-so-exciting life of Laura

Alright so I felt like I needed to post again. Fair was pretty fun. I went on Wednesday and Saturday. Tianna, Mia, Sarah, Alisha, and I danced in Rickett's Revue and we placed 5th. We did a dance to "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. It was really fun. I always seem to waste a ton of money at the fair. haha I guess that's what it's for.

My sister, Christine, leaves for Russia on Saturday. I won't see her for 10 months. (Actually she goes to Charleston, then Washington D.C. for orientation, and then Russia, but she won't be back in Roseburg until next May.) I'm going to miss her so much. I know she'll have a great time, she's always wanted to go to Russia, so we're all excited for her.

I hate to admit it, but summer is almost over and the big "S" word is coming up. I'm on Link Crew this year, which will hopefully be fun. It means I have to go a day early to school, but Link Day isn't really work so it's not that bad. Hopefully the kids in my group won't hate me. lol.

Well today I was making cookies, and I burned one dozen of them, and then the next dozen were slightly burned, but still eatable. I guess I'm never going to be a good cook. Oh well. Most of the cookies were decent, but oh well.

Alright well I'm gonna get. Peace!-Laura

All I Ask of You- Phantom of the Opera

I've always loved this song, it's one of the sweetest duets I can think of. I still need to watch Phantom of the Opera (the new movie.) -Laura

Raoul:
No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you - my words will warm and calm you.

Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears.
I'm here with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you...

Christine:
Say you love me every waking moment,
turn my head with talk of summertime...
Say you need me with you now and always...
Promise me that all you say is true -
that's all I ask of you...

Raoul:
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light.
You're safe:
No-one will find you -
your fears are far behind you...

Christine:
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night...
and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me...

Raoul:
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime...
let me lead you from your solitude....
Say you need me with you here, beside you...
anywhere you go, let me go too -
Christine, that's all I ask of you...

Christine:
Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime...
say the word and I will follow you...

Raoul & Christine:
Share each day with me,
each night,
each morning...

Christine:
Say you love me...

Raoul:
You know I do...

Raul & Christine:
Love me - that's all I ask of you...

Anywhere you go let me go too...
Love me - that's all I ask of you...

Who knows where I was goin with this...

I feel the need to update, yet I don't know what about. No big life-changing experiences have happened to me lately, no spiritual epiphanies, or monumental moments. Oh! I just got an idea. I feel a list coming on...

Monumental Moments to Make the Most of (like the alliteration?)

1.First Kiss (duh!, but it seems like most people don't have a "Cinderella First Kiss" story.)

2.First Day of School (I know I said the "s" word during Summer, but we really should make the most of this day that only happens once a year. Its a time for new beginnings, and fresh starts.)

3.Traveling (Especially out of the country. See all the "touristy" places, but don't turn down a chance to see what the people there are like, and learn about their culture.)

4.Opportunities to Volunteer and Help others (It always makes me feel good when you're thinking of someone besides myself.)

5.Meeting new people (Everyone has something unique to teach. If we take the chance to listen, we can learn something new.)

6.Sharing Our Talents (That one is always hard for me, because I get terribly nervous when it comes to performing in front of an audience. But I guess its just one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.)

7.Learning a New Skill (Give 100% in everything. Either hate it or love it.)

8.I couldn't think of a good one for number 8. :p lol

9.Complimenting Others. (I dont know that many people that get mad, when given compliments.)

10.Expressing appreciation for the efforts of others (magic words=please & thank you)

Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching. I didn't mean it like that. I just felt like making a list. Anyway..enjoy..~peace-Laura

Feelin groovy....haha:D

Alright so life has been pretty good lately. I hope that didn't jinx things for me. It's not like anything big or exciting has happened, I guess I'm just content with where I am, and who I am right now. I love my friends, family, church, and everything. I'm feeling really great. Hmm I think I'm gonna make a list of random stuff that I want to do sometime in my life. Well here goes:

1. Go to Europe.
2. Fall in love.:)
3. Learn to like vegetables. (can't live on carrots and corn forever haha)
4. Learn to speak Spanish, and other languages, fluently.
5. Go to New York and see Broadway.
6. Sing/dance/perform in front of a huge crowd and knock em dead!:D
7. Save money and use it for a good cause.
8. Make a difference in someone's life.
9. Learn how to ballroom dance. (swing, latin, etc.)
10. Learn to cook.
11. Learn to play an instrument.
12. Go on a spontaneous road trip with no destination in mind.
13. Go skinny dipping...haha (no boys don't worry).
14. Dance in the rain. (I'v already done this but I will continue to do so:D)

Alright so there you go..there's a little list..14 things. Enjoy:D! peace-Laura

ps: comment!!:D

Bored...

Hello again.
Well life hasn't been super exciting as of late. But I figured I'd post anyway..Lately I've realized how much I love good conversation. It really says a lot about a person if you can talk to them for hours and not get bored. I've always loved the saying "Marry someone you love to talk to, because when looks fade away, conversation is left." or something like that.
Hmm...Fair is coming up. That should be fun. I can't believe Summer is more than halfway over. That's so depressing. I don't want school to start again. I don't want to be a Junior yet. I feel so old. I'm going to be 17 in less than 3 months. Man... to all of my fellow Juniors..we have to make this year count. We only have 2 years left and I don't want to waste them. We have to make this year UNFORGETTABLE.
Once again I can't think of anything interesting to post about. It seems like all my posts are pretty short and meaningless. Life has been treating me fairly well lately. Even in the boy department lol. Life has been pretty fun lately. Not super exciting, but i've really grown to appreciate my friends. I love all of you guys. I think my circle of friends has gotten bigger this year and the friends that I had before have become closer. Hmm..well I couldn't make this post much longer than the others but oh well. I'm off to bed..actually probably not but oh well. peace -Laura

Catchin up..

Hey everybody..it's been a while. Sorry I haven't been updating..it seems like no one is. So anyway...not too much super exciting has been happening. 2 important events have occured though. My car wreck, and getting my wisdom teeth out. I got in a car wreck last monday..and so I no longer have the privelege of driving my sweet Penelope, my minivan. I was driving on Heydon Road off of Melqua and I slid ont he gravel, went off the road and hit a tree. Very Scary. Luckily I was ok and no one else was in the car. Second, today I got my wisdom teeth out. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The shot was the worst part. Then they gave me lots of drugs so I was knocked out basically for the whole procedure. I didn't swell up too bad so I might still go to the halfshell tomorrow night. Who knows..Hmm..well yeah I'll try and update more:D ttyl bubye

Peace~Laura

Wow..it's been a while.

Hello all,
Yeah I know I haven't posted in a LONG time. Well Girls camp (church camp) was a blast! I had a great time. And then I went to California. Got a little tan:D. That was fun. I love the beach and the sun. I'm a california girl at heart, I think I got that from my mom. It was fun to hang out with all my cousins and stuff too. My cousin Billy is so fun. He's like 26 and is married. He and his wife Mandi are lots of fun. They brought their friend Darcy too. He cracks me up. He's like David Spade's TWIN. It's crazy. He's such a goofball.
Yeah and grafitti (gosh I can never spell that word, soo frustrating) is tonight. It should be fun. My mom always tells me how "Roseburg" I am. lol So what if Fair and Grafitti night are the highlights of my summer. I'm not TOO much of a redneck. hehe. Yeah well this post isn't too long I'll maybe write more later:D Love to all! xoxo peace;) -Laura

I'm baaaaaaaack!!! woohoo!

Hey everybody! I'm back from EFY. I know you all missed me SOO much..lol. Wow I had so much fun though. An amazing experience. This year was my 3rd year goin to it and it's awesome every year. I met so many awesome kids and the leaders and counselors were great. It's such a cool feeling to be surrounded by youth from my church. We are united in our faith and our morals. The whole week was filled with awesome classes, fun games, dances, and great speakers. I am going to miss everybody I met there: Talisa, Megan, Hilly, Gramps, Rowdy Rex, Strong Sean, Colonel Cody, Bobby & Steven, and all the awesome counselors: Ryan, Jackie, Kirsten, Scott, Jimmy, and Katie. Even though I've only known them for a week, I feel like I've known some of them forever. The whole week was so uplifting and spiritual but really fun at the same time. I'm so glad I went. I learned so much. I love Mormon boys, they are so sweet. Our guys from our group came and sang to us and brought roses:D. It was really cute. Man I'll miss them. Well I'm going to go. love you all! ttyl bubye
peace;), Laura

6.23.2005

Hey guys!!

Hey y'all! I'm not back yet, I'm still at EFY but they have computers we can use. Yeah I'm not gonna email back because I dont have that much time but I figured I'll post real quick. Anywho..I'm having an awesome time. Such a great experience. There are like 300 mormon kids all together. So much fun. Yeah tomorrow is our last full day so I will be back sometime Saturday. I'm excited. Then I leave for Girl's camp next Tues. I'm excited for that. I'll be on a "mormon high" hehe. But it's cool. Yeah the people here are soo nice and it's a lot of fun. We have a banquet and a dance tomorrow to end the week. I'll be soo sad I bet cuz I've made a bunch of new friends. A lot of them aren't too far away. (Portland area) Yeeeaahh..well I'll write more later but I miss all y'all! See you when I get back. Hey my mormon posse (if any of you are reading this) we should find something cool to do Saturday cuz Then I'll be back. Love you all!! xoxoxo bubye ;)

Then came home, babysat my little brother (I read him a beranstain bears story.), got on MSN way too much. Was super bored. Yeah well I'm leavin Monday (technically tomorrow) for EFY so I won't update until Saturday prolly. I'm excited though. I hope its' fun. Yeah..WEll this is super short but oh well. I'll talk to y'all later. xoxo to everybody. -Laura

The Lovely Life of Laura

Hello all y'all that are reading this. I'm just really bored so I felt like I'd post about...something. Anyway. I'm really excited for summer. I have a lot of plans for June/July so I'll be gone a lot, but it's going to be lots of fun. First off, next Monday I leave for Portland to go to EFY(Especially for Youth). It's a week-long camp thing for my church. I went to one last year and the year before. (They have them all over the U.S. the whole summer). It's an awesome experience. A whole week surrounded by hundreds of other kids that all basically believe the same thing. The counselors are AWESOME and the dances are soo much fun.
Next up, I'm off to Girl's camp (another church camp, w/just girls though, hence the name.) It's lots of fun. I'm sad cuz my friend Stacey won't be there this year but hopefully it will still be fun.
Then The next Sat (right after I get back from Girl's camp) Me, My mom, my sister and my little brother are leavin for Santa Barbara. The annual family reunion for 4th of July. It's lots of fun. Good food, family, the beach...gosh I love California. Maybe I'll get a tan hehe. Swimsuit season...oy...eh oh well..I'll try not to care.
Oh yeah I never blogged about Sarah's RAD party!! It was soo much fun. Nate and Kevin crack me up! I love you guys! Sarah, Em, Laura, Jenny, and all the girls are soo much fun. Nathan and all his buddies make Sarah's house extra fun. Silly boys. It was pretty funny when we were all in the hot tub w/our regular clothes on hehe.
Well now what to talk about...well I've realized something about boys and high school relationships...it just gets more confusing. I'm not looking for a boyfriend, because I think that I change my mind too much to make a commitment. I know a ton of guys that would be a blast to hang out with, and there are a few I'd especially like to hang out with. My friends call me fickle, and maybe I am. There isn't really any specific guy that I'm "in like" with right now, but there are a few that I would like to get to know better. I like talking to guys 'cause they always have a different perspective than girls. And boys make me laugh. haha. Well enough rambling...that's basically it though, i wish I had a bigger group of close guy friends. Maybe I can do something about that this summer. hmm..something to think about..well I'm out. peace-Laura;)

Quiero un caballo pequeño con pelo rojo!!

Hola todos. Como estan ustedes? Yo escuche a Ace de Base con mi amia Kara. Fue muy divertido. Yo fui a Tyee en Viernes con muchas chicas. Kara y yo hablamos mucho. Pues...ayer yo fui a Iglesia con mi madre y mi hermano. Y mi hermana Christine vino a casa. Yo uso su computadora (laptop.) Ok enough spanish..I was gonna try and make this whole post in spanish but it didn't work so well. So yeah today was kinda boring. Finals stink and I'm definitely not wanting to take my finals tomorrow or the next day. I say we just get the whole school to sleep in. They can't fail everyone eh? haha. I wish. Anyway... So I'm feeling kind of bummed because my blog is less than special. Diana's blog is all deep and stuff w/lots of thought-provoking posts. Mallorie's is kinda the same way but mostly just random and stuff. Yeah I feel like my blog is too ditzy. :( But I'm not a very deep person anyway..so I'd probably sound stupider if I tried to think of something brilliant. Anywho..on to more ditziness. I'm listening to Ace of Base, the Cruel Summer cd. It's got some good songs on it. "Cecilia" is a fun one. hehe. Now onto something I've been thinking about for a while....boys. No I'm not going to go on and on about the boy problems that I am having. I just have been wondering something. Back in like the 50s and 60s and stuff people used to "date." I don't mean boyfriend/girlfriend. But it was ok for a girl to go to the movies with one guy one weekend and go bowling with another guy on a different weekend. Nowadays, it seems like teenagers are too caught up in "going out" with each other. It seems like this year that I haven't just liked one guy. I don't really like anyone right now. There are several possibilities, but no one that I dream about. Yeah..I've been feeling awfully fickle lately. I don't like it. Hmm...but I guess I can't really help it that much. Anyway...well this is enough of a ramble for now. More later. My main point was...dates are a good way to get to know others and they're fun. hehe. No I'm not begging. Heck no! Anyway..well I'm gonna go..hope u all enjoyed my uh..complaining..lol -peace, laura:)-

Me gusta mucho Ricky Martin...el es magnifico, y muy guapo.

So I am sitting at my computer, clearly procrastinating my homework. I am listening to a GREAT cd. It's becoming one of my favorites. The songs on it are beautiful, sweet, and not in English. Yes, as you all are probably noticed from the subject of this post, I am listening to Ricky Martin. I absolutely love this CD. "Vuelve" is what it's called. All the songs are in spanish and even though I don't understand them too well, spanish is such a beautiful language. I wish that I could speak it better. Anyway, Perdido Sin Ti is definitely one of my favorites along with others, but La Bomba and La Copa De La Vida son FANTASTICO! Man, I want to learn how to latin dance SOO bad. I learned a little bit on my cruise and since then I've wanted to learn even more. But yeah 16 year old boys that want to learn how to dance are hard to come by. Oh well. Just a thought for guys though...I'm not saying this as a hint..but most girls LOVE guys that can/will dance. It doesn't make you look like a wuss or a queer or something. It's definitely hot. :D Yeah anyway..just thought I'd say how much I love Ricky Martin. I honestly don't know how people can listen to awesome songs like "La Bomba" and "La Copa De La Vida" and NOT wanna get up and dance. Anywho...I love you ricky! maybe you can be my dance partner:D haha. well I'm out -luv u all, peace- Laura:)
